Yandex search engine presented statistics on the most popular search queries
among users in 2016 and seven TNT television series made it into the Top-10 in
the category “Russian TV series.”
The sitcom Fizruk (Gym Teacher) topped the rating of Russian television series that Yandex users searched for most often. The third season of the series premiered on TNT in April-May 2016. Its average viewership share added up to 20.8% of the audience aged 14 to 44.
The new TNT project Olga, which was released on the channel in September 2016, wrapped up the top three. Olga became the most successful TV series on TNT in 2016. It was watched by 23.9% of Russian television viewers aged 14 to 44. A week before the broadcast, TNT, together with Ruform, presented the first episode of the Olga comedy series on the VKontakte social network - the first time in history that the channel has made such a move.
Other TNT series that made the Top-10 of the most searched included Ostrov (The Island), Politseysky s Rublyovki (The Policeman from Rublyovka), Borodach, Realnye Patsany (Real Guys) and Interns.
The final season of the Interns series was broadcast in January and February 2016, with the average audience share among people aged 14 to 44 amounting to 22.6%. In April 2016 the format of the Interns series was sold to China. The leading media company Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation (JSBC) has undertaken the adaptation of the Russian series.
In addition to searches done on TNT television series, the second most searched personality in the “Women” category was the star and face of TNT Olga Buzova.
TNT projects are popular among the Internet audience. The social media pages for the TV series Fizruk have more than 1.1 million subscribers. The TNT audience on VKontakte is 17.5 million people, while the channel’s total number of subscribers across all social networks counts more than 32 million people.
TNT regularly interacts with its viewers online. For example, more than 100,000 people voted for the online awards Interns. Final (Interns. The End) and about 300,000 people watched the actors of the series receive the prizes. TNT-Club mobile app users and subscribers of the Politseysky s Rublyovki official group in VKontakte chose the official poster of the series.
