The film series made by NTV and TV-3, both of which are part of Gazprom-Media Holding, won four prizes at the Zolotoy Oryol national film awards. The award ceremony took place on January 25 in the first pavilion of Mosfilm studio.
NTV series Hozhdenie po Mukam (The Road to Calvary) was recognized as the best television series of the year. Anna Mikhalkova won in the nomination “Best female role on television” for her acting in the TV-3 series Obychnaya Zhenshina (An Ordinary Woman). Victoria Igumnova received an award for her costume design in the Gogol film trilogy on TV-3 channel, while her colleague Elena Zhukova won in the nomination “Best art director”.
NTV received an award in the nomination "Best television series" for the channel’s adaptation of Alexey Tolstoy’s epic novel, Hozhdenie po Mukam. The series was timed to coincide with the 100 year anniversary of the October Revolution. Its plot revolves around the revolutionary events that took place in Russia between 1914 and 1919. Konstantin Khudyakov directed the series, while the main roles - those of the Bulavin sisters - were performed by Yuliya Snigir and Anna Chipovskaya. The world premiere of the series took place in 2018 at the MIPCOM television market in Cannes.
In July 2018, the Greek television channel ERT3 acquired the rights to show the series Hozhdenie po Mukam. The series is also available to Netflix subscribers as of September 2018.
TV-3’s Gogol and Obychnaya Zhenshina won three Zolotoy Oryol awards. It was the first Zolotoy Oryol in the channel's broadcast history.
Actress Anna Mikhalkova won an award for the best female role on television. She played the lead in Boris Khlebnikov's film series Obychnaya Zhenshina, which was produced by TV-3 and the studio Lukfilm. The series tells the story of Moscow resident Marina, who runs a brothel in secret from her relatives in order to provide for her family. Although this story has an extravagant plot, at the core of it is a dramatic story of a strong woman.
Anna Mikhalkova was previously recognized for the same role at the prestigious international festival of television and web series, Series Mania, in France.
The films Gogol. Viy and Gogol. Strashnaya Mest (Gogol. Terrible Revenge) won two Zolotoy Luch awards. The awards were presented to Gogol’s team by awards host Yevgeny Stychkin, who himself played one of the roles in the film. Victoria Igumnova received an award for her work as the film’s costume designer, while the award for best art director went to Elena Zhukova. For the latter, the Zolotoy Oryol was also the first.
