Rutube launched an application for the new Apple TV

Russian largest video service Rutube launched an application for the new Apple TV. The new application of Rutube is available in the AppStore today.

"We are pleased to be one of the first Russian video sites having, launched its own application for users of the new Apple TV. The successful experience of the key players in the global OTT market confirms that the development of applications for widescreen TVs is the main driver of VoD-services. Today, the user experience is increasingly shifting toward nonlinear watching. We offer users a large number of unique video content. Rutube`s catalog consists of more than 2.5 million videos for 500 thousand hours of continuous viewing. We expect the strong growth of our application setup. We are also considering the launch of paid premium services based on this platform,"- said general manager of Rutube Vadim Fedotov.

The application Rutube has been developed on the basis of the new operating system tvOS and has a simple and clear interface - the user can navigate the catalog and find interesting content in a few clicks. The application is adapted to the Apple TV, which allows users to conveniently play video, use gestures of control familiar to users of i-devices, as well as significantly reduce the time required to download the application.

Rutube catalog consists of popular content of TV channels TNT, TV3, Friday! 2x2 Match TV, collection of full-length films as well as collections of UGC-content and channels of video bloggers. The catalog also includes the Highlight of sports world championships, music videos and newscasts.
