Petersburg’s Chas Pik is a weekly covering social and political weekly newspaper.

The publication has been coming out since 1988 (Published since 1988).
Since 1990 the publication has been printed on 16 pages of A2 format.
The newspaper is the first independent democratic publication in St.Petersburg and one of the first in the territory of the former USSR.

Readership of 1 issue is 85,000 people.
Print run – 30,000 copies.
Delivery area: Saint-Petersburg, Leningrad Oblast, Pskov Oblast, Novgorod Oblast, the Republic of Karelia.

The publication covers all the topics that may be of interest to a town-dweller: socio-political life of the country, economic news round-up, development of business in Russia and abroad, cultural life of the city and a lot of other things.

Petersburg’s Chas Pik offers its readers a deep and thorough analysis of the events of the week, a well-balanced appraisal including the opinion surveys of various walks of life, commentary by renowned experts.

The publication has many times been noted by the government and social organisations for its unbiased standing on the most socially topical issues. The newspaper was the receiver of grants to publish materials on the demographic situation, prevention of crime against individuals, combating illegal drug trafficking.

In 2003 the newspaper was awarded the title of The Best Project of the Year, the winner of the Russia Without Drugs national contest, and was awarded the Golden Patronage Diploma. It was awarded the “Press Excellence – 2006” and “Press Excellence – 2007” badges of honour.
