The World Youth Festival was held in Sochi from March 1 to 7. Gazprom-Media Holding was the general media partner and prepared a large-scale program for the forum’s guests.

Challenge Children’s Home: the present and the future of Russian blogging
Insight People production center organized the Challenge Children’s Home. It was visited by Sergey Kirienko, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Russia, Rustam Minnikhanov, head of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Ksenia Razuvaeva, Head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh). Bloggers proposed that Rustam Minnikhanov to create Yappy Academy media school and the Insight People production center with the support of the region. The Challenge Children’s Home hosted a round table, “Russian Blogosphere in 2024”, which was attended by Alina Zinnatullina, CEO of Insight People, and Danila Ovcharov, CEO of Yappy. The speakers discussed the opportunities offered by domestic platforms, what a sought-after blogger looks like, and where to start in the career of an influencer.
The RUTUBE roundtable “The Power of the Word: How Socially Important Bloggers Top the News Agenda in Russia Despite Blocking by Western Media” was attended by journalists Yury Podolyaka and Mikhail Onufrienko and Channel One war correspondent Maryana Naumova.
The Yappy team, together with bloggers, held dozens of workshops, lectures, quizzes and flash mobs. The activities took place as part of the Yappy Academy, included in Gazprom-Media Holding’s PROfnavigator project.
Broadcasts with top managers and show business stars
The festival included GPM Radio’s multi-format studio. More than 40 guests participated in the live broadcast. Maria Zakharova, official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, and Ella Pamfilova, Chair of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, shared their impressions of the forum and the synergy of young people from different countries.
The guests of the studio were Svetlana Zhurova, Olympic champion and State Duma deputy, Ksenia Razuvaeva, Head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh), Vadim Tereshchuk, General Director of GPM Radio, Sergey Pershin, Program Director of WYF-2024, NANSI & SIDOROV, performers of the festival anthem, and many others.
Winners of the IDI Award
The first part of the award ceremony of the 3rd National Internet Content Award took place at the festival. Gazprom-Media Holding was the information partner for the award.
The finale of the Realnye patsany series was best in the “Viral Content” category. The project was produced by Good Story Media for the TNT TV channel. Maria Zakharova presented the prize to its creators.
The Challenge won in the “We are from the future” nomination. The distributor of the first feature film shot on board the International Space Station was Central Partnership.
The award in the “Voice of a generation” special nomination was given to the acting team of the series The Boy’s Word: Blood on the Asphalt. NTV TV channel participated in its production.
Screenings and filming
During the Znanie.Kino lecture there was a screening of the film Lord of the Wind about Fedor Konyukhov, and an exclusive clip of the film Guest from the Future based on the story by Kir Bulychev. The distributor of the films is Central Partnership.
The “Tasty Russia with Sergey Belogolovtsev” project was also filmed at WYF-2024. The presenter visited the “Russian Taste Fest” gastronomic festival. The “menu” of the new series included both well-known national dishes and authentic cuisine of indigenous peoples. The project was realized with the support of the Internet Development Institute.
Best social projects
Gazprom-Media Holding held a workshop on measuring the efficiency index of a social project. It was part of a media stream organized by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science with the support of Rosatom.
Participants presented their social initiatives, of which, five were selected as the best. X-Youth is an international project to create a community and online platform for sharing experience of and solutions for social projects. “The future of the country is in our hands” is an initiative to popularize working professions among young people. “Scientist in the lens” is a project about opportunities to build a career after studies. “GRANT_ME” is an online course on the development of social projects. “DIGITAL. ANCESTORS” is a project to improve the financial and digital literacy of elderly people.
Workshop in sign language and media immersion
Gazprom-Media Holding organized a trip to the of the “Rhythm and Us” creative studio festival for hearing-impaired children. The children met RUTUBE and Yappy bloggers, played in a chess tournament with grandmaster Sergey Karjakin and visited the GPM Radio studio, where they learned how radio programs are created. Children from “Rhythm and Us” performed at the “Step Towards” festival for children with disabilities, held a workshop in sign language, and sang the anthem of the festival in sign language.
