On December 23, Gazprom-Media Holding announced the appointment of Mikhail Demin as the director for the development of Gazprom-Media Holding’s paid channels. He will be responsible for the development of pay television broadcasting. This includes the strategic development and operational management of NTV-PLUS operator and Red Media, one of the largest producers and distributors of paid special-interest channels in Russia.
Mikhail Demin has worked in the media and telecommunications industry for many years. Before joining the Gazprom-Media team, he was responsible for communications and public relations at Aeroflot and headed press operations at the Sochi 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organizing Committee. Before that he worked at Mobile TeleSystems, was the general manager of NTV-PLUS and took part in creating the Match TV channel using it as a base. Mikhail was also elected president of Russia’s Media Communications Union for three years.
