TV-3’s film series Avanpost (The Outpost) was the only Russian production that made it into the short list of the prestigious US festival Cinequest. The festival brings together film and high tech. The world premiere of the first part of the Avanpost dilogy will take place on March 15, 2019 in the Silicon Valley, in San Jose, California.
Avanpost was created by TV-3 in the fantasy thriller genre and it consists of two parts. The plot is set in a near-future besieged Moscow and revolves around its inhabitants. Due to a sudden and inexplicable incident, Moscow residents lose their connection with most other cities on Earth. Pyotr Fyodorov, Aleksey Chadov, Lukerya Ilyashenko, Svetlana Ivanova and Konstantin Lavronenko played the lead roles in the thriller.
Ilya Kulikov (Zakon Kamennyh Djunglei/Rules of the Stone Jungle, Chernobyl. Zona Otchuzhdeniya/Chernobyl. Estranged Zone, Politseysky s Rublyovki/The Policeman from Rublyovka) wrote the script for the Avanpost dilogy, and Yegor Baranov (Gogol film series) directed it. Avanpost has already won prizes at the international festival Accolade Global Film Competition (USA), while the film soundtrack, written by Ryan Otter (Gogol), was a winner at the Global Music Awards.
