NTV channel started airing the action drama Khoroshaya Zhena (The Good Wife) on November 11. This is a Russian adaptation of the popular American TV series The Good Wife, which was produced by Sony Pictures Television and LEAN-M production center together with Team Films.
The Russian version is the third adaptation of the series following the US and South Korean versions. The series has won more than 30 awards, including a Golden Globe and Emmy, and the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
In the Russian version, the action takes place in Saint Petersburg. Within one day, the life of the lead character Alice changes suddenly. Her husband, the prosecutor of Leningrad region, is arrested. His reputation, which he had been building for so long, is destroyed. Alice moves to her mother-in-law’s apartment with her children and is forced to begin living independently after many years of happy, carefree life. To start, she gets a job as a junior lawyer in a large law firm.
