Gazprom-Media Holding TV channels win 13 awards at TEFI 2016

The television channels NTV, TNT, Friday! and Match TV, which are part of Gazprom-Media Holding, won 13 awards at the TEFI 2016 television industry awards.

TNT won four bronze Orpheus statuettes, while NTV, Friday! and Match TV received three awards each.

“Gazprom-Media was able to bring together a wonderful and talented group of people - creative, production and technical teams that are crafting memorable projects. People are our main asset. Brands and characters are the basis of our holding’s strategy. It’s nice that our projects are recognized by both viewers as well as our colleagues in the television industry,” Dmitry Chernyshenko, Gazprom-Media Holding chief executive officer, said about the TEFI 2016 results.

In total, 34 works from NTV, TNT, Friday! and Match TV were featured on the TEFI 2016 shortlist.

TNT

The TV series Izemeny (Cheating) was recognized with three TEFI awards in the categories: “Best television film/TV series,” “Best director of a television film/series” (Vadim Perelman) as well as “Best actress in a television film/series” (Elena Lyadova). The TV series Interns received a TEFI statuette in the nomination “Best television multi-series comedy/sitcom.”

NTV

Presenter Yulia Vysotskaya won in the nomination “Best morning program host.”

The program Tsentralnoye Televidenie (Central Television) received a TEFI award in the nomination “Best informational-analytical program,” while its host Vadim Takmenyov was recognized as the “Best informational-analytical program host.”

Friday!

TV channel Friday! marked its three-year anniversary of being on air with three TEFI awards. The travel show Oryol y Reshka. Krugosvetka (Heads or Tails: Around the World) was once again recognized as the best entertainment project in the “Lifestyle” category. This is the project’s second TEFI award.

The program Revizorro earned a statuette in the nomination “Best journalistic investigation,” while Revizorro-Show was named the “Best evening talk show.”

Match TV

Match TV sports channel, which started broadcasting in November 2015, received its first recognition from the professional community, winning three TEFI statuettes in its debut at the awards.

Legendary hockey player Viacheslav Fetisov presented a special prize from the TEFI Awards founders to the Match TV team for the creation and launch of the sports TV channel.

Commentator Vladimir Stognienko received an award in the nomination “Best sports program host,” while the project Fedor Emelianenko. Put na Vostok (Fedor Emelianenko. Path to the East) won a TEFI award in the nomination “Best television project about sport.”
