The hall of the October theater is the main premiere venue for the presentation of Gazprom Media Holding projects. The two-hall theater was built in 1967 to a design by architects Mikhail Posokhin, Ashot Mndoyants, and others for the 50th anniversary of the October Revolution. Until 1998, when it was closed for reconstruction, the theater hosted the premieres of domestic films, festivals, and retrospectives. The “renovated” theater opened in 2005 after reconstruction, transformed into a modern multiplex consisting of 11 theaters.
October is one of the main venues for the annual Moscow International Film Festival, as well as a place for premiere previews and star premieres.
The facade of the theater building includes a mosaic panel that has the status of a cultural heritage site of regional significance: it is adorned with a mosaic panel made of natural stone, created by artists Nikolai Andronov, Andrey Vasnetsov, Viktor Elkonin, and Lev Syrkin.
Since 2005, the KARO network has handled film distribution activities on the basis of a long-term lease.
