The top management of Gazprom-Media Holding held a meeting with a delegation from the Republic of Iran on August 17. The delegation was received by Alexander Zharov, general director of the holding company, Alexander Moiseev, his deputy and general director of RUTUBE, and Vadim Vereshchagin, general director of Central Partnership.
The Iranian delegation included: Mohommad Hazan, Deputy Minister of Culture and Head of the Film and Audiovisual Organization of Iran; Asghar Farsi, Deputy Head of the Film Organization; Mehdi Javadi, Director General of the Farabi Film Foundation; Hashem Mirzakhani, Director General of the Cinema Shahr Institute; Majid Esmaili, Director General of the Cinema Museum of Iran; and Yazdan Oshiri, Advisor to the Head of the Organization and Head of Public Relations. The parties discussed specific steps for joint content production and distribution between the countries. In addition, they agreed to develop their cooperation and exchange experience in the creation of TV series, films, and animation, as well as import substitution in the production of content.
Gazprom-Media Holding announced its collaboration with Iranian filmmakers on June 16, 2022. During the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Alexander Zharov announced the first joint Russian-Iranian project in the history of the industry. It will be produced by Central Partnership, and the partners have already outlined the plot of the picture and started work on the script.
