​Gazprom-Media and Dentsu Inc sign agreement on a strategic partnership

Gazprom-Media Holding and Dentsu Inc., the largest advertising and communications holding in Japan, signed a memorandum about a strategic partnership with the aim to promote the cultural values and traditions of Russia and Japan. The agreement was signed by the chief executive officer of Gazprom-Media Holding, Dmitry Chernyshenko, and the president and chairman of the board of directors of Dentsu Inc., Tadashi Ishii as part of the visit by Russian President Vladimir Putin to Japan.

The two parties intend to join efforts in order to broaden the spread of Russian cultural traditions and art in Japan, and alternatively, the spread of Japanese cultural traditions and art in Russia. The agreement also provides for cooperation in other areas depending on the companies’ mutual interests.

“The agreement implies that both companies will act as a kind of bridge for promoting the cultures and traditions of our countries,” Dmitry Chernyshenko, CEO of Gazprom-Media Holding, said about the signing of the agreement. “Thanks to the diversification of the businesses and their presence on various media platforms, Gazprom-Media and Dentsu Inc. have a great opportunity in the sphere of media and communications. By combining our efforts, we will be able to create joint projects in the fields of television, film and sport, aimed at promoting the cultures and art of Russia and Japan.”

Activities in the following areas are planned within the framework of the partnership:

-Organization of tours and performances of Russian artists;

-Hosting film festivals and organizing film premieres;

-Distribution of Russian film and television products in Japan on mutually beneficial terms;

-Joint production of full-length, television and documentary films and television shows;

-Sport promotion and coverage of sporting events.

Dentsu Inc. is the largest advertising and communications holding in Japan and one of the largest advertising companies in the world in terms of revenue. The company has worked on the Japanese market for 115 years - it was established on July 1, 1901 - and it provides a wide range of services in the field of integrated communications and business consulting.
