#MYVMESTE, the international forum on civic participation, took place from December 2-5 in the Moscow Manege. The forum, which was held under the patronage of UNESCO, was dedicated to public interest partnerships aimed at promoting sustainable development and brought together volunteers from more than 40 countries. Gazprom-Media Holding played an active role in the forum, serving as its information partner and having the company’s representatives participate in the event’s business program.
The RUTUBE national video hosting platform and the new social network for vertical videos Yappy, which Gazprom-Media Holding launched last week, were featured as part of the forum’s large-scale exhibition program. The #MYVMESTE civic participation forum was also the site for the exclusive presentation of Yappy. The First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Kiriyenko made a visit to the Yappy and RUTUBE stands.
Themed lectures, discussions and public talks were held at the RUTUBE stand. Experts discussed the production of public interest content, ecological initiatives, trends in charity work and the participation of major businesses in the lives of society. The video hosting platform held a live broadcast of the forum’s business program and festive concert. More than 16,000 viewers watched the feed during the forum’s working days.
RUTUBE also launched a program in support of charitable projects, foundations and organisations at the #MYVMESTE forum. As part of this program, the platform will equip participating organisations with modern tools for fundraising and attracting volunteers. The first six foundations that are participating in the RUTUBE project already have interactive “Support” and “Become a volunteer” buttons on their channels. The platform’s viewers can use these buttons to make donations to charity projects or sign up as volunteers at these organisations by using the quick authorisation option.
Meanwhile, Yappy stand visitors took part in a large-scale public interest challenge called “Dobroe Serdtse” (Kind Heart), learned about the blogging profession, practised shooting lifestyle content and talked to popular bloggers as part of the program’s Life Talk block. More than 5,000 people visited the stand at the forum with more than 3,500 videos in support of public interest activities shot at the stand during this time.
The #MYVMESTE International Awards were handed out as part of the forum for the first time. These awards are a continuation of the a public support initiative of the same name and the legacy of the national Dobrovolets Rossii (Russian Volunteer) contest, which was launched on an order from Russian President Vladimir Putin with the goal to develop a culture of mutual help and support leading campaigners for social change as well as those who launch initiatives aimed at helping people and improving the quality of life.
Gazprom-Media Holding’s social responsibility PRO program won first place in the nomination “Helping people” in the “Business” category. The PRO program aims to create a system within the company that would encourage its employees to participate in public interest initiatives. The program is made up of three blocks: PRO_Sozdanie (PRO_Creation), which looks to develop the company’s own projects with a public interest focus; PRO_Uchastie (PRO_Participation), which covers external partnerships with existing charity projects; and PRO_Sodeistvie (PRO_Support) - the support and development of budding public interest initiatives.
The public interest project Khvosty i Lapki (Tails and Paws) was also named first in the nomination “Technologies for life” in the “Business” category. Khvosty i Lapki is an online service that helps stray dogs and cats find new homes. The service was developed on a volunteer basis by the team of Kvant (part of Gazprom-Media Holding), which carries out Gazprom-Media Sales House projects in the AdTech, Big Data and digital advertising areas.
