Gazprom-Media Holding, the leading diversified media holding in Russia and Eastern Europe, is announcing the appointment of Tinatin (Tina) Kandelaki to the post of deputy CEO. Tina Kandelaki will serve as the deputy CEO of Gazprom-Media Holding starting on September 8.
In her new position, Tina Kandelaki will continue to oversee the development of the Gazprom-Media Match sub-holding and will now also oversee the activities of the Holding’s entertainment TV channels (TNT, TV-3, Friday! etc.). Moreover, Tina will be responsible for the launch and development of the Match news agency, which the Holding announced earlier.
Alexander Tashchin will replace Tina Kandelaki as the chief producer of Match TV channel. He is currently working as the channel’s chief editor. Alexander joined the channel’s management team in July 2020 while Tina Kandelaki has served as Match TV’s chief producer since its launch in 2015.

From 2002 to 2015, she was the host and producer of flagship programs on top Russian media. She hosted the talk show Detaly (Details) on STS TV channel, the programs Razvorot (U-Turn) and Osoboe Mnenie (Individual Opinion) on Ekho Moskvy radio, and the program Nerealnaya Politika (Unreal Politics), which aired on NTV and REN TV channels. She also produced the STS project Infomania and the popular television show Samy Umnyy (The Smartest).
From 2008 to 2015, she was the co-owner of Apostol communications agency.
In 2015, she was appointed chief producer of the federal sports TV channel Match TV.
Under Tina Kandelaki’s leadership, Match TV received more than 20 awards, including the “Best sports channel of 2017” award at the International Sports Film Festival, three Zolotoy Luch awards, a gold and silver at Promax Asia, the TKT Awards prize at the annual television and radio broadcasting forum IBC-2016 and IBC-2017 in the Netherlands, five TEFI national television awards, six Mediabrand awards, the Sports Industry Leaders award, the Prometheus-2016 country-wide online award, among others.
In 2021, Tina Kandelaki launched four projects together with Russia’s PREMIER entertainment video service. Among these are the series Rostov-na-konu and 50 Voprosov. Sport (50 Questions. Sport), as well as the show Kak Pokorit Chempionku (How to Conquer a Champion) and the reality show Arshavin Menyaet Professiyu (Arshavin Changes Occupations).
In the summer of 2021 Match TV became the most cited media outlet during the Olympic Games, according to Mediascope data (men aged 14-59, 100+).
Every year Tina Kandelaki is among the top 10 most cited journalists in Russia, according to Medialogia. She also made it into Esquire magazine’s ranking as one of the most influential women in Russian media in 2018.
In 2018, Tina Kandelaki became Russia’s first representative in Spain’s La Liga football championship. In this role, she participated in a number of celebrations ahead of the new 2018-19 season.
That same year, Tina Kandelaki became a member of Russia’s official delegation to the annual World Economic Forum in China.
The Bookmaker Ratings publication recognised her as the best top manager in the sports industry in 2021.
In 2018, Tina Kandelaki became a producer of Bolshaya Igra (Big Game) - a popular 16-episode TV series about football, which aired on STS federal TV channel. She also produced more than 10 projects as part of a collaboration with IVI: Chuma! (Plague!), Chuma! Vtoraya Volna (Plague! The Second Wave), Chumovoy Novy God (Freaky New Year), Razgovornik (Phrasebook), Sovsem Drugie (Completely Different), Po Koleno 1 (Knee Deep 1), Po Koleno 2 (Knee Deep 2), and Mir Posle (The World After).
