Vokrug Kino: Runet’s No.1 television guide launches new service

The leading online television guide Vokrug TV, which is part of Gazprom-Media Holding, along with the KIT group of companies and the film company Central Partnership (which is part of Gazprom-Media KIT) have launched a new project Vokrug Kino. The new service will be devoted to cinema and its development, with special attention given to Russian films.

The project is being built up on the technological and editorial base of the television guide Vokrug TV and is available at the address vokrug.tv/kino

The topic of movies has always been the most sought after among the Vokrug TV audience. According to the statistics from Yandex.Metrika, 79% of the website’s visitors are interested in films. First of all, there is demand for information about the stars of Russian films, and there is also growing interest in Russian films themselves.

Encyclopedic information about films, their stars and thematic film selections can be found on Vokrug Kino. The website will also have news about films, the schedule of cinema releases and film reviews (“What can I watch in the cinema this week?”, “What is being filmed right now?”, “The most anticipated premieres of the month,” and so on), reviews of the main premieres of the week, interviews with actors and filmmakers. In the “Main event” section there will be information about the major events in the world of cinema, such as the Cannes Film Festival, Kinotavr, Moscow International Film Festival and others.

Thanks to the integration of Vokrug Kino with the project Kinokhod, the service users will not only be able to get the latest information about cinemas and film sessions, but also to purchase cinema tickets on the website. Moreover, by autumn it is planned to expand the service with additional interactive features, polls, quizzes and so forth.

Vadim Fedotov, general manager of Gazprom-Media Technologies: “The interest of the Vokrug TV audience to the topic of films is high, so we decided to create a separate resource about film with quality content. We are happy about the opportunity to carry out our new project together with the leader in the segment of film production and film distribution, Central Partnership. The launch of the project will be an important step on the way to developing an umbrella lifestyle brand Vokrug. We have experience creating an online television guide which became the leader in its segment in just a few years. The task of Vokrug Kino is to replicate this success. I am confident that in the next few years the service will take a leading place among websites about Russian cinema.”
