The White Nights film distribution company (part of Gazprom-Media Holding through GPM KIT) will release Grigory Dobrygin’s drama Na Blizkom Rasstoyanii (At Close Range) in movie theatres.
Na Blizkom Rasstoyanii is the first Russian film where the action takes place in the context of a pandemic. It is a bold experiment by Grigory Dobrygin who invited a non-professional actor Nurbol Kairatbek to play alongside well-known actress Kseniya Rappoport. The film is the author’s quick-witted statement about intimacy in a difficult time and can be seen in theatres from December 2.
The film’s plot centres on Inga (Kseniya Rappoport), a famous actress, who finds a courier (Nurbol Kairatbek) on her doorstep in the middle of a pandemic. He is a migrant from Central Asia and he is unconscious. Inga invites the young man into her home at the risk of getting infected, but under one condition.
