Gazprom-Media radio stations biggest winners at Radiomania 2016

The radio stations of Gazprom-Media Holding received seven gold microphones at Radiomania 2016, a national award that recognizes the best in the Russian radio industry, in a ceremony that took place on October 21.

Avtoradio, Detskoe Radio and Comedy Radio emerged as Radiomania’s biggest winners.

One of the prestigious awards went to a large-scale project that Avtoradio launched ahead of the 2016 Olympic Games, RIO! Zdes y Seychas (RIO! Here and now!). Millions of Russians tuned in to Avtoradio to follow the news from the Olympics, which took place in South America for the first time in history. The radio station’s special correspondents went live from the capital of the Olympic Games every day, while the hosts of the popular show Murzilky Live Mikhail Bragin, Tatiana Gordeyeva and Zakhar kept up the atmosphere from the Moscow studio with the help of numerous celebrity guests. It was fitting, then, that the Avtoradio hosts received the Radiomania statuette from the champions of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Avtoradio also won the main industry award for its international music festival Diskoteka-80x (Eighties Disco). In 2015, the festival once again united the two Russian capitals, Moscow and St. Petersburg, while its program listing showed a record number of stars who were real symbols of the 1980s.

The station received its third gold microphone of Radiomania 2016 for its special project Mnogo Deneg. Supersezon! (A Lot of Money. Superseason!). In this special edition of the program, Avtoradio not only gave contestants a chance to win the usual money prize, but also an expensive and prestigious sports car, Porsche Cayman!

Detskoe Radio was recognized for the variety of its regular off-air offerings, while the Comedy Radio station received a statuette for its program #KakPetKak (#HowToSingHow) in which the Russian comic Seva Moskvin teaches radio listeners to perform the songs of famous artists.

The new format station, Like FM, received a special prize at Radiomania 2016 for its “innovative approach to music station programming.” Like FM is the most successful start-up of the Russian radio industry in recent years, and its concept is one-of-a-kind in the world.

In the competition among regional radio stations, Avtoradio-Yekaterinburg won in the nomination “Best non-music talk show” for the program Narod Hochet Znat (People Want to Know).

“The (gold) microphone that I hold in my hand is the 70th that our company has received. Each year we surpass ourselves and this is very happy news. Gazprom-Media Radio is a leading company. Colleagues vote for our projects, recognizing this leadership. Radiomania is an event that resonates with the whole radio industry. It brings together the best of the best. This year the Academy of Radio chose the most worthy projects, which include our direct competitors. It is twice as interesting to work on such a market,” said Yuri Kostin, general manager of Gazprom-Media Radio.

Radiomania is the most prestigious award in the field of radio broadcasting in Russia. It is organized by the Russian Academy of Radio.
