Match buys rights to broadcast the English Premier League in Russia
The Match sub-holding bought the rights to broadcast the matches of the English Premier League in Russia for the next three seasons. The contract is valid until the summer of 2019.
“We welcome the English Premier League on the channels of our sub-holding and are happy to offer Russian fans the opportunity to enjoy the most memorable and spectacular matches,” said Dmitry Granov, general manager of the sub-holding Match.
“Last season, the English Premier League gifted fans with the most exciting and unpredictable championship of the last decade, which culminated in the historical and unforgettable victory of Leicester, led by the best player of the season, Jamie Vardy,” said Tina Kandelaki, general producer of Match TV.
“We are very happy that Match TV has again decided to acquire our broadcasting rights. In the past seasons they have done an excellent job for our fans in Russia,” said the head of the English Premier League, Richard Scudamore.
