New Year's Mayhem) earned more than 1.32 billion rubles across Russia and the CIS countries for its 18 days at the box office and became the highest-grossing Russian film in the comedy genre, according to the industry portal Film Business Today.

The film surpassed the previous record holder in this genre in terms of box office earnings - the film Yolki 3, which earned 1.24 billion rubles. Moreover, its high box earnings put Politseysky s Rublyovki. Novogodniy Bespredel among the Top 10 highest-grossing Russian films in the history of domestic film distribution. The movie is still being shown in cinemas.

The film earned more than 365 million rubles during the first January weekend and remains the leader in the Russian New Year's “battle”.

The film Politseysky s Rublyovki. Novogodniy Bespredel was made by TNT channel, which is part of Gazprom-Media Holding, and Legio Felix. Top managers of Gazprom-Media companies Valery Fyodorovich and Evgeny Nikishov acted as the film’s producers. Ilya Kulikov, who is the author and director of the TV show of the same name, wrote and directed the film. He is also known for his works Chernobyl. Zona Otchuzhdeniya (Chernobyl. Estranged Zone), Zakon Kamennyh Djunglei (Rules of the Stone Jungle) and other TV shows.
