GPM Radio wins seven Golden Microphone statuettes.
The national Radiomania awards were held on December 1 in Moscow as part of the 10th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Radio (RAR). Gazprom Media’s Avtoradio and Detskoe Radio won the Network Radio Stations category this year.
Like FM, Radio Zenit and Avtoradio St. Petersburg were among the winners in the Regional Radio Stations category.
Detskoe Radio’s Ya pomnyu, ya gorzhus project (I remember, I am proud) received a Golden Microphone in a special nomination dedicated to the 75th anniversary of end of World War II. This project recounted stories from young radio listeners about wartime heroes in their family – those who fought in battles, toiled on the home front or survived those terrible years as children.
Another special award was given to Avtoradio for how it adjusted its work conditions for the pandemic. Called 17 komnat (17 rooms), this allowed GPM Radio DJs on Avtoradio and other stations to continue their work in real time at home while maintaining all the live elements of regular broadcasts.
For example, the hosts of the show Murzilki LIVE held two live ten-hour marathons on Avtoradio from their home studios for the game Mnogo deneg. Smart sezon (A Lot of Money. Smart Season), handed out more than 100 electronic devices, and made two of their listeners millionaires. With #PoyDoma (#SingAtHome), singers performed live for Avtoradio listeners without leaving their apartments or houses. As a result, Avtoradio surpassed the mark of 2 million subscribers on its YouTube channel during the pandemic, earning more than 1 billion views. The station also tripled its indicators on Yandex.Efir.
