The operator of digital and satellite television NTV-PLUS has summed up the figures for its own OTT platform in the first quarter of 2021: the OTT platform had more than 186,000 subscribers, which is 88% more than in the first quarter of 2020.
The share of people who watch NTV-PLUS.TV’s online television and are also among the operator’s satellite subscribers was 26%. NTV-PLUS offers its subscribers the “Online TV (Multiscreen)” option, which allows them to watch TV channels that are part of the satellite subscription on any digital device on favourable terms. The number of people who use the “Multiscreen” option has doubled as compared to the same period last year.
The number of subscribers (subscribers who used the sVOD model) increased by 96% as compared to the first quarter of 2020. The audience continued to show high loyalty to the service - 86% of subscribers renewed their subscriptions for the next period, according to AppStore data. At the same time, the number of views on the PPV model decreased by 25% as compared to the first quarter of 2020. This can be explained by the relatively high price of the service and the remaining gaps in sports broadcasts in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The content offer was significantly expanded in the first quarter of 2021. The OTT platform added nine new, high-quality television channels to its offerings.
