The filming of the new crime drama Zveroboy (Hypericum) started in Tver on July 18. The series will be released exclusively on the PREMIER video service. Timur Weinstein and Teymur Dzhafarov produced the series with Anar Abbasov directing.
The plot centers on a Moscow investigator Oleg Khlebnikov who kills a serial pedophile while making an arrest. The man turns out to be a major media personality and his influence is so great that many resist making the information public. To cover up the scandal, the pedophile’s death is presented as an accident and Khlebnikov is sent to the provincial monotown Vakhta. Here Khlebnikov faces not only a more difficult investigation, but also a difficult choice.
