The PREMIER video service (part of Gazprom Media) and the Soyuzmultfilm animation studio have signed an agreement for exclusive digital rights to show a significant portion of the studio’s animated features on PREMIER. The licensing agreement covers 1,145 films, or more than 76% of Soyuzmultfilm’s media library.
What's new on PREMIER?
PREMIER now has the exclusive rights to show 961 animated films from Souzmultfilm’s Golden Collection, including cartoons made between 1941 and 2003 such as cult favorites Veselaya Karusel (The Happy Merry-Go-Round), Prostokvashino (Three from Prostokvashino), Nu, Pogodi! PREMIER’S LATEST DEVELOPMENTS
Soyuzmultfilm’s animated films significantly expand PREMIER’s library of children’s content. Today it has around 5,800 media items, with more than 40% of the content made in Russia; after its agreement with Soyuzmultfilm, this number will increase to 50%.
New PREMIER Capacities
As of June 2020, PREMIER subscribers got a new feature in their profile: now they can customize content based on their child’s age (0+ and 12+). Subscribers can create one or several children’s profiles, each one having customized collections, personal recommendations, select cartoons, and the option to track browsing history. Special sections were made for preschoolers with content that is best suited to their age group: fairy tales, musical stories, educational cartoons, and family viewing content. There will be significantly more specialty content on the video service in the future, as well as audio content.
