The PREMIER video service has taken the lead in terms of its share of paying subscribers, according to data from a new study by Telecom Daily.
The leaders in paid subscriptions are PREMIER (51%), Netflix (46%), and Wink (45%). Viewers also watch free content on ivi (74%), KinoPoisk (71%) and Megogo (72%). Moreover, 27% of the respondents said that they do not pay for streaming at all because the “free function is enough” for them.
IAA TelecomDaily gave data for the first quarter of 2021 and found that subscribers to online cinemas in Russia spend an average of 315 rubles per month.
More than half of the respondents (57%) use online cinema services quite often: 24% almost every day and 33% two to three times per week. Overall, their share over the past six months has grown 6%. Twenty-six percent of respondents use online cinemas several times per month, and 17% use them once or twice per month.
The data was collected using an online survey. Overall, more than 12 services were included in the study.
