Red Media celebrated its 15th anniversary on June 8, 2021. A part of GPM KIT Group of Companies (part of Gazprom-Media Holding), Red Media is a leading Russian company in the production and distribution of special-interest TV channels for cable and satellite broadcasting.
Red Media’s distribution package includes 39 channels, which makes it one of the largest and strongest representatives on the Pay TV market. The package addresses all the key and in-demand niches of special-interest television: film, sports, travel, food, music, hobbies, children’s content, educational programs.
The company’s TV channels are broadcast in 43 countries and are available to viewers in 980 cities. Red Media works with more than 1,900 satellite and cable operators in Russia, the CIS and the Baltic states. The geography of Red Media’s channels expands every year. For example, in 2020, broadcasts began in Bulgaria, Mongolia, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
Red Media is the leader of the two most in-demand niches on the market of special-interest Pay TV: sports (13 channels) and film (13 channels).
The 12 film channels of the company’s own production, which are united under a shared Nastroy Kino! brand, aired 310 film premieres over the past five years. This marked the first time these films were shown on Russian television.
The number of subscribers to the Nastroy Kino! premium package (TV channels KINOPREMIERA, KINOHIT, KINOSVIDANIE, KINOSEMYA, MUZHSKOE KINO) grew 2.5 times over the past two years (2018-2020) and the proceeds from the package distribution doubled.
Red Media has been investing in Russian film since 2020. The first investment stage focuses on three films of various genres, set for release in 2021. These include the drama Gerda, the New Year’s comedy Moy Papa ne Podarok (My Dad is Not a Present), and the thriller Ryad 19 (Row 19).
Red Media is a market leader in the number of TV channels that are assembled on the company’s own technical platform - more than 20 channels. Red Media’s broadcasting complex is one of the largest centres for the formation of TV channels in Europe and also one of the most modern in the world. The company’s list of clients includes NBC Universal, Lagardere, Sony Pictures Television, Playboy TV and TV Sale, among others.

The company is especially proud of its self-produced programming. Red Media produces studio programs as well as documentaries and travel shows. The company’s content library currently holds 19,300 programs of its own production.
Red Media’s TV channels and programs have won multiple professional and festival awards. Overall, the company has won 123 Russian and international awards since its launch.
