Gazprom-Media Holding representatives spoke at the BRICS Cloud Cities Forum

The opportunities and challenges of digital technologies were discussed by participants of the BRICS Cloud Cities forum on the future of BRICS megacities, which was held in Moscow on September 18–19. The forum events were attended by Tina Kandelaki, Deputy CEO of Gazprom-Media Holding, Sergey Ivanov, CEO of RUTUBE, and Alina Zinnatullina, CEO of Insight People production center.

Tina Kandelaki spoke on September 19 at the session “Sapiens Digitus. Will a person living on their smartphone understand human speech in the future?” She shared her reflections on how we and our children are affected by digital developments.

“People of the 21st century live on their smartphones. Friends, it’s time to recognize that even our own children are completely influenced by us until a phone falls into their hands. And now algorithms are already vying for your child’s attention. But what’s in store for a society where humans see screens more often than people, and workers are going on strike about leaving remote working?”

At the session “Digital Society: Valves versus Digital”, Sergey Ivanov outlined key challenges associated with the introduction of advanced technologies.

“We’re moving forward with confidence. Active implementation of advanced technologies opens up new opportunities for RUTUBE’s development. Innovations not only improve functionality of the platform, but also make it more convenient and efficient for both users and content creators.”
Sergey Ivanov CEO of RUTUBE

Speaking at the same session, Alina Zinnatullina talked about the balance between digitalization and preservation of traditions. She noted that one of the priorities of the Insight People production center is creating special projects that aim to preserve history, family and cultural values.

“Our world is changing rapidly, and the rate of growth of innovative technologies is staggering. There is an opinion that digitalization has a negative impact on the preservation of traditions, but I am sure that on the contrary, it helps to preserve the balance. With the help of social networks and new opinion leaders – bloggers – it is now possible to broadcast the cultural values of all Russian regions to a wide audience. More people now know about regional history, family traditions and much more, and information has become more accessible.”
