TNT will start showing its new series Militsioner s Rublyovki (Militsiya Man from Rublyovka) on April 12 at 21:00. It is a prequel to the popular TV series Politseysky s Rublyovki (Policeman from Rublyovka), about the younger years of its main character. The series by Ilya Kulikov will look at Volodya Yakovlev’s youth during the “absurd and unbelievable 1990s”. The channel will show two episodes of the new series on the day of its premiere.
The prequel is made up of eight episodes, each one focusing on different features of the 1990s: from “burned” cassettes that were sold in tents by the metro entrances to “new Russians” in fuschia jackets driving Mercedes-Benz 600s. Ilya Kulikov, author of Politseysky s Rublyovki, wrote the script while Polina Anufrieva acted as the director and creative producer of the new series. Militsioner s Rublyovki is the first project in her filmography. Artyom Suchkov played the young Volodya Yakovlev, smoothly combining his take on the character with the trademark character traits that Sergei Burunov introduced in the original series.
