The winners of 2021 Promax Asia Awards, the international award for excellence in television marketing, promotion and design, were announced on November 26. Friday!, TNT4, Match TV and Subbota! television channels as well as Red Media companies received 27 statuettes at the prestigious awards, including 13 gold and 14 silver. With this tally Gazprom-Media broke the record it set the previous year when the Holding’s team collected 17 statuettes. Moreover, the Holding remained the leader among other Russian companies this year in terms of the number of awards won.
TNT4 channel emerged as the absolute leader among Russian channels and among all channels, with the exception of Disney Channel, in terms of gold awards. TNT4 also won gold in the most important nomination, “Best promo team of the year”.
The awards jury recognised the video clip Kinoleto (MovieSummer) with gold awards in the nominations “Best brand image,” “Best film promo”, “Best season’s promo”, “Best editing” and “Best sound design”. Kinoleto also took a silver for “Best interstitial/sneak peeks”.
The video announcing the screening of The Hateful Eight also took an award, a silver, in the “Best sound design” nomination. Another silver went to the video made for the film 99 Francs in the “Best promo using only programme footage” nomination.
TNT4 is the Russian channel with the most international marketing awards. In the nearly six years since its launch, the channel won more than 90 awards at the prestigious international Promax contests in television marketing.
Friday! channel won 12 awards - five gold and seven silver - at the 2021 Promax Asia Awards and thus became a leader among Russian television channels in terms of the number of awards. The channel’s promos won gold in the following nominations: “Best themed campaign” for the public service announcement “Vremya Slushat Planetu” (It’s Time to Listen to the Planet) to the program Mir Naiznanku (The World Inside Out), “Best movie promo” for the promo clip to The Revenant, “Best entertainment promo” and “Best reality promo” for the clip to the reality show Konditer (The Pastry Chef), and “Best voice-over performance” for the promo to Death Race.
Silver awards were given to Friday! channel for the video clip “GREEN FRIDAY!” (Best special event promo), the promo to the show TikTok Talant (TikTok Talent, Best programme campaign), the promo to the TV series Oleg (Best script/copy), the promo campaign to the series Al-Kapotnya (Most outstanding marketing initiative), Bitva Shefov (Battle of the Chefs, Best design), and the artworks made for the show Konditer (Best key art).
Subbota! TV channel also won an award, in the “Best sponsorship integration” nomination, for its first television giveaway in which gifts from well-known brands were handed out.
Match TV picked up two gold and two silver statuettes at the 2021 Promax Asia Awards. Its video clip, “Euro 2020. Stili Futbola” (Euro 2020. Football Styles), won two awards, in the nominations “Best special event promo” and “Best sports promo”. The awards jury also recognised the clip “Zvezdy Match TV” (Match TV Stars) with a gold statuette for “Best direction” and the clip “Olimpiada Tokyo 2020” (Tokyo 2020 on Match TV) with a silver in the “Best sports campaign” nomination.
The video clips made by Red Media companies received another two silver statuettes. These were given to “The Avengers. Skazka Pro Repku” (The Avengers: Tale of a Turnip, Kinosemya channel), which won an award for “Best brand image (in-house)”, and “Vse Geroy Nosyat Maski” (All Heroes Wear Masks, Nastroy Kino! channels) which was recognised in the “Social good campaign - Covid-19” nomination.
