The new TV series Vne Sebya (Beside Oneself) is a surreal thriller produced by Valeriy Fedorovich and Evgeny Nikishov. The project’s premiere is scheduled for fall 2021.
The producers of 1-2-3 Production Valeriy Fedorovich and Evgeny Nikishov invited Alexander Doulerain to direct the pilot episode and supervise the project’s next filming stages. While the coronavirus pandemic forced changes to the filming process, as of today, the filming that was to be done in Russia is finished. The film crew of the series will go abroad in May to complete one more day of filming and wrap up the production cycle.
The plot is based on a script by Andrey Zolotarev, who previously wrote the scripts for the films Sputnik and Lyod (Ice) as well as the series Trigger and Master. The young director Klim Kozinsky directed the first Vne Sebya season, while Yevgeny Stychkin played the lead role.
The plot centers on a brilliant financier who has a strange medical diagnosis. He suffers from blackouts and is always surrounded by “phantoms”, among which are his murdered wife (Elena Lyadova) and her lover (Evgeny Tsyganov), a crime investigator who shot himself. Trying to recover from his condition and gain custody of his five-year-old son, the financier starts to investigate his wife’s murder and recall facts from his past. And here the surprises begin. The hero and his life start to come to light in completely unexpected ways.
